Grades 1-5: Peace Skills (handling conflicts, communicating one on one, group decisions, standing up for oneself and others, helping others, diversity, etc) are practiced through games, activities, and a little acting. Pre-4 and K: Peace Skills and beginning Social Skills (taking turns, reading feelings, handling anger, winning/losing, etc) are introduced in simple activities, games, and dances. My contact with you is always to collaborate, not criticize. When you have a concern, or I have one, I truly feel putting our heads together is what gets us the best solution. *I have raised three children of my own and realize how challenging that can be. Please praise your child for their part in that because it is not always that easy to accomplish, especially at OLR, where I teach two classes at a time! I will most likely be sending out group accolades. *PE provides a great venue to teach children the importance of being part of a group.
